Sure, I dig open-world shooters or the bombastic presentations of Call of Duty or Battlefield, but sometimes, you just want to shoot a lot of things. I haven't had this much fun in a first-person shooter in a long time. Everything else is all about getting Kamiko's tainted body back and getting her out of Wang's head. Things go horribly wrong and Wang finds the scientist, Kamiko, sharing his headspace. Wang is given a simple mission to save a young scientist from his former boss, Orochi Zilla. Humans and civilized demons co-exists, while the wilder strains live out in the wilderness. Following the events of the first game, the human and demon realms have been melded into a single world. Now Flying Wild Hog are reviving Lo Wang in Shadow Warrior 2. The original title was reimagined by independent developer Flying Wild Hog with better graphics, more weapons, more extensive levels, and a much better presentation. In Duke's place, we got Lo Wang, a cocky katana-wielding assassin with a penchant for stupid humor. The original Shadow Warrior was a game that repurposed the Duke Nukem 3D engine and its sense of humor with new coat of paint inspired by Asian films and mythology. Shadow Warrior 2 is a goddamn trip of the best kind. in this one though, you're more likely to slice at something's lower extremity and see a chunk of its hp bar fall off rather than its leg. the close encounters in the first seemed to 'feel' weightier even though they might not have been, the sword strikes from the first definitely felt meaner. i guess i was kind of hoping they'd add even more heft to the melee combat. When i engage the enemies, i usually flail around with my zaibatsu swords, and when i come to there are a bunch of little loot drops all over the floor it's like, half the time i don't even know what i'm hitting.
i loved the first borderlands game and i loved shadow warrior 2013, but something here isn't working for me.
the huge weapon variety, the graphics are nice, there's a leveling system with lots of cool moves, a weapon upgrade system, awesome moves, etc. theoretically i should love this game as i quite like all the individual parts. Y'know, after about playing it for 5 hours i have to say, i'm not having much fun.
